Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (formerly known as National University of Malaysia) is one of the five research universities in Malaysia. It was renamed the National University of Malaysia (Malay: Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia/English: National University of Malaysia, UKM/National University) approved by the Malaysian National Assembly in 2011. Established in 1970, it is the third public university in Malaysia.
UKM has two campuses. The main campus is located in Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor, about 35 kilometers away from Kuala Lumpur. The branch campus is located in Kuala Lumpur, District, covering an area of 19.9 hectares, and its university hospital and teaching hospital, Pusat
Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (PPUKM/UKMMC) is located in Cheras area.
There are about 27,000 students in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, including more than 19,000 undergraduates. The number of graduate students and doctoral students in more than 8,500, accounting for approximately 30% of the total number of students. There are more than 1,000 international students from all over the world studying for master’s and doctoral programs in various majors. Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia is a very famous university in Southeast Asia and even the world. Its diplomas and academic qualifications are widely recognized internationally, and it is a top university ranked 1% in the world.
