Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM)

(Universiti Teknologi MARA) was formally established in 1956. It was first initiated by the Malaysian Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Industry to improve the economy of rural communities. On February 14 2017, the Minister of International Trade and Industry, Dato’ Sri Mustapa bin Mohamed, officially announced the establishment of the school, and invited London Chamber of Commerce & Industry, The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, Certified Practising Accountant Australia and the British governing body to take charge of some courses. In 1964, the first batch of 50 graduates received degrees and certificates were awarded by Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak.

From 1965 to 1967, it was renamed MARA COLLEGE. MARA represents the People’s Trust Council. After the completion of the curriculum cooperation with the British management schools in 1966, it cooperated with the internationally renowned Ealing Hammersmith & West London College to jointly develop business courses, laying the milestone for UiTM in international cooperation. From 1967-1999, it was renamed UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI MARA. With the rapid development of the human resources market at that time, more internationalization, and advanced courses are needed, UiTM has grown rapidly.
