Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM)

(Universiti Putra Malaysia, referred to as UPM) is located in Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia. It was founded in 1931. It is a well-known research university in Southeast Asia. It has about 30,000 teachers and students. The main campus covers an area of 1,103 hectares and is away from the city center of Kuala Lumpur. Only 25 kilometers.

In 1973, UPM merged with the Department of Agriculture of the University of Malaya to form the Agricultural University of Malaysia. In 1999, it was officially renamed Universiti Putra Malaysia and established a branch in Sarawak, Malaysia. Universiti Putra Malaysia is one of the largest universities in Malaysia and a key school to promote the growth of experienced and skilled human capital throughout Malaysia. It is highly committed to effectively formulating teaching strategies, scientific research, innovation and innovative practices in professional services. Ninety-one percent of faculty lecturer at 

University Putra Malaysia have a doctorate degree, making it the most powerful university in Malaysia.

ENGLISH REQUIREMENT

1.An applicant who meets the academic requirement of the study programme but did not have an English language proficiency at the time of application except for the programmes as below where Rule 1 above applies:

Bachelor of Arts English Literature
Bachelor of Education (Teaching of English as a Second Language)
2. An applicant who obtain a score below than:
549 for the TOEFL Paper-based Test (Academic Version) or 217 (Computer Based) or 78 (Internet Based); or
 Band 5.5 for IELTS (Academic Training); or
ELS Level 107
3. An applicant with provisional admission is granted meet the minimum English Proficiency requirement for the bachelor degree program as follows: 
TOEFL: Minimum Score of 550 (Paper based) or 218 (Computer Based) or 79 (Internet Based); or
 IELTS : Minimum Score of 6.0; or
ELS : Level 107 (required to continue the Certified Intensive English Programme and pass Level 109 within two semesters.
